Weekend Holding

Weekend holding is keeping a trading position open over the weekend when markets are closed. Many firms restrict or ban this due to the price gap risk when markets reopen.

A gap open on Monday can blow through a stop-loss entirely, exposing the firm to a loss it can’t manage intraday, which is why this is one of the more strictly enforced restrictions in CFD prop trading specifically.
