Common questions
Why do prop firms have drawdown limits?
Not because anyone is losing money in a market. Goat Funded Trader says so itself: its Funded Account Disclaimer states that “GoatFunded Trader accounts are not live trading accounts, they are fully simulated accounts utilizing real market quotes from liquidity providers,” and the site’s own footer disclosure adds “the accounts utilized for our services are demo accounts.” A falling balance is a number moving in a platform, not a loss taken in the market.
What is real is the money either side of it: the fee paid for the account, and the reward paid on simulated profit. A maximum loss is the point at which that arrangement ends. Every firm in the sector runs one for exactly this reason.
Goat Funded Trader’s own pricing tool states a bare maximum-loss percentage for every account and does not say anywhere binding whether that floor moves. It does move, and the mechanism matters more than the number. See the next answer.
Does the maximum loss trail, and does it ever stop?
It depends on the model, and the firm does publish which. Three of the seven configurations on sale carry a static floor the firm calls an Absolute Floor: the 1-Step at 6% of starting capital, and both 2-Step models at 10%. The four Instant models and Goat Blitz trail against equity. This corrects an earlier version of this answer, which said the mechanism was undocumented and that every account trailed.
Where it trails, the firm says the floor follows equity up and “does not move back down”, and on the Instant models that it “resets after each payout”. What it does not say, for any model currently sold, is whether the floor stops rising when it reaches your starting balance. The one article that answers that question covers Pay Later, a model the firm has closed. Taken at face value, an unlocked equity-trailing floor breaches a sufficiently profitable trader above the balance they began with.
The other half of the original finding stands, and is arguably the more important half. None of this is in the contract. The Terms and Conditions carry an effective date of 1 June 2023 and do not contain the words “drawdown”, “trailing”, “maximum loss” or “consistency” at all, and they do not incorporate the help centre by reference. Every rule on this page lives in a document the firm can rewrite without notice, outside the agreement a trader accepts.
Which company are you actually contracting with?
Goat Funded Trader’s own Terms and Conditions do not agree with themselves on this. Clause 1.1 states: “Welcome to Goat Funded Trader, a trade name of Wishes Tower International Limited, based in RM 1205, 12/f. Beverly Hse 93-107 Lockhart Rd Wan Chai Hong Kong (76428795) (the ‘Company’).” That is the entity named as the contracting party throughout the operative text of the agreement you accept.
The footer that appears on every page of the site, including the Terms and Conditions page itself, names a second and different company: “Goat Funded LTD – Ground Floor, The Sotheby Building, Rodney Bay, Gros-Islet, PO Box 838, Castries, Saint Lucia, with company number 2025-00240 – provides the simulated trading services advertised on www.goatfundedtrader.com.”
Two different companies, in two different jurisdictions, both presented as authoritative on the same page. Nothing on the site explains whether Goat Funded LTD is a subsidiary of Wishes Tower International Limited, an affiliate, or something else. Reading the agreement’s own clause structure, we treat Wishes Tower International Limited as the operative contracting party for a dispute, since it is named in the substantive text rather than a footer disclaimer, but that is our inference. The site itself never resolves it, and a trader signing up has no way to know from the site alone which company they are actually agreeing to trade with.
How often can you actually request a payout?
By default, every two weeks, or every ten days on the Instant Premium account. The live pricing tool states this plainly for every configuration we tested: “Rewards: Bi-weekly” on six of the seven, “Rewards: 10 days” on Instant Premium.
That sits oddly against the firm’s own About page, which lists its reward cadence as “On Demand” in a comparison table set directly against a competitor’s “14 Days.” A blog post is the only place that explains the gap: on-demand payouts are “an optional on-demand payout add-on” on top of the standard bi-weekly cycle, not the product most buyers are actually on. The site’s separate “paid within 2 business days” guarantee is a processing-time promise once a reward is requested, not a statement about how often you can request one, and the two are easy to conflate because the site never places them side by side.
So the honest answer is: bi-weekly (or ten days on Instant Premium) is the real default, on-demand is a paid upgrade, and the comparison table’s bare “On Demand” claim describes an upsell rather than the product most traders buy.
Does Goat Funded Trader sell futures too?
No, not under this brand or this legal entity. Goat Funded Trader at goatfundedtrader.com sells CFD-style challenge and instant funding accounts only. A separate site, goatfundedfutures.com, sells futures accounts through a different company, WITI Limited, Hong Kong company number 77146639, and states plainly on its own footer that “trading in Stocks, Options, Forex, Cryptocurrency, and CFDs is outside the scope of our programs.”
The two are marketed together as one family brand, and the similarity between “WITI Limited” and “Wishes Tower International Limited” (the CFD site’s own named contracting entity, itself contested, see the answer above) suggests a corporate relationship we could not confirm from public pages. This page documents the CFD product only. None of the figures below apply to the futures brand.
What happens if you breach a rule, and can you argue?
The first half is published. The second is not, anywhere.
The help centre article on rule violations is two sentences long in full: “if any breach or prohibited practice violation is detected on your account, that account will be suspended and rendered ineligible for future rewards or to advance to the next stage.” There is no appeal route, no evidence standard, no duty to notify, no response window and no escalation path published on any page of the site.
That is the sharpest thing left on this page after the help centre was taken into account. A firm running to seventy-five articles of published rules, actively maintained, has written nothing at all about how a trader contests their enforcement. The only evidence procedure it does publish runs the other way: under the IP policy the risk team may demand travel documents, passport stamps or video proof of location, and insufficient evidence “may result in account restrictions, account breaches, or permanent suspension”.
Separately, a risk limitation policy lets the firm restrict a live account to 1% risk per trade idea at its discretion, and breach it immediately if the trader does not comply after being told. Accounts breached that way are “ineligible for any rewards”.
Correction, 6 September 2026
This page was first published on 4 September 2026 and stated, in several places, that Goat Funded Trader does not publish rules that it does publish. That was our error and it was material, so it is recorded here rather than quietly edited away.
We looked for a help centre at goatfundedtrader.com/help and /faq, found that both return the site’s own 404 page, saw that the header FAQ link opens a chat widget, and concluded there was no help centre. There is one, at help.goatfundedtrader.com, running to seventy-five articles across seven collections. Every one of them predates our first publication; the two most recently updated are dated 2 and 3 September 2026. The firm did not add this in response to us. We missed an existing source.
Corrected on this page: the minimum trading days, which are published per model and which we recorded as unpublished; the restricted-country list, which is published in full and which we recorded as an open gap; the inactivity rule; the copy-trading and signals policy; the hedging policy; the news-trading and weekend-gap detail; the first-payout requirements; and the account and capital limits. Corrected most importantly, three of the seven account types carry a static maximum loss, not a trailing one, where this page previously said all seven trailed.
What did not change: the Terms and Conditions still carry an effective date of 1 June 2023, still contain none of the words “drawdown”, “trailing”, “maximum loss” or “consistency”, and still do not incorporate the help centre by reference. No appeal or evidence process for a trader facing a breach is published anywhere. And the firm’s own documents contradict each other in seventeen places we can evidence, which is the highest count we have recorded on any firm in this section.
The Briefing Score in our review of Goat Funded Trader has been re-run on the corrected facts and moved from 4.9 to 5.5, in the firm’s favour. We publish a re-run either way, and this is the first time the commitment has been tested.
Who you are contracting with
This page covers Goat Funded Trader’s CFD product at goatfundedtrader.com only. The group’s separate futures brand, goatfundedfutures.com, is contracted through a different company and is out of scope here.
Contracting entity
Verified 4 September 2026The Terms and Conditions name Wishes Tower International Limited, Hong Kong company number 76428795, as “the Company” throughout the operative agreement text. The footer that appears on the same page, and every other page on the site, names a second company, Goat Funded LTD, Saint Lucia company number 2025-00240, as the entity that “provides the simulated trading services advertised on www.goatfundedtrader.com.”
Neither document is older or newer than the other; both are live, current pages, and the contradiction sits on the same URL. We treat Wishes Tower International Limited as the operative contracting party because it is named in the substantive agreement text rather than a footer disclaimer, but the site itself never resolves which company a trader is actually agreeing to trade with.

Stated in clause 15.1, and worth quoting exactly as written rather than tidied up:
You acknowledge and agree that any controversy or claim arising out of or related to this Agreement… will be settled by arbitration pursuant to the most recently effective commercial arbitration rules of high Court of Justice of Canary Islands.
That names arbitration rules and attributes them to a national court, which does not issue arbitration rules. The clause does not resolve into either straightforward arbitration or straightforward litigation in the Canary Islands as written. It also sits oddly with a Hong Kong- and Saint Lucia-registered set of entities with no other stated Spanish or Canary Islands connection in the current text; the wording most likely predates a documented 2025 move of operations from Spain to Hong Kong and was not updated. The Complaints Policy separately states outright: “Goat Funded Trader is not a regulated financial institution.”
Source: Terms and Conditions · Complaints Policy
The Terms and Conditions carry “Effective Date: 01/06/2023” with no separate last-updated marker. That predates a Hong Kong migration the firm’s own CEO described to Finance Magnates as “99% completed” in January 2025, and predates the Complaints Policy, which carries its own, much newer date. The Refund Policy and the Funded Account Disclaimer carry no date at all.

Conduct, strategy and breach handling
Prohibited trading and strategy rules
Verified 4 September 2026Published in Terms and Conditions clause 4.4. In full, as written, including a discretionary catch-all:
- Exploiting errors or latency in pricing or the platform
- Utilising non-public or insider information
- Front-running trades placed elsewhere
- Trading that jeopardises the firm’s broker relationship or risks trade cancellation
- “All-0r-Nothing Trading, where you can lose the account in one trade” [typo preserved from source]
- “Any trading style that we deem too risky will result in a retake”, a fully discretionary standard
- Expert advisors using high-frequency strategies, and the “Gold Arbitrage EA” by name
- Any third-party or off-the-shelf strategy, or one marketed to pass challenge accounts
- Using one strategy to pass the assessment and a different one once funded, or vice versa, as determined by the firm’s own discretion
- Holding a single-share equity CFD position into an earnings release, defined as an immediate hard breach
- Overnight-gap trading intended to profit from a market open
- Arbitraging a challenge account against another account at the same or a different firm
- Running multiple same-size accounts to exploit market conditions or the firm itself
Two of these are objectively defined breaches. Several others, including the risk-style clause and the strategy-switching clause, are left to the firm’s own judgement with no published test.
Source: Terms and Conditions
Prohibited outright, and defined broadly: “opening two opposite positions on the same asset, regardless of lot size or calculated risk”. It covers the same account, a trader’s own multiple accounts, accounts held by different traders, and “hedging between a GoatFundedTrader (GFT) account another Firm’s account”.
The published consequence is at the harsher end of the sector: “the account will be breached immediately, and the user will be permanently banned from our platform”.
This corrects an earlier version of this page, which recorded the position as stated only in a blog post. It is published in the help centre. It remains absent from the Terms and Conditions.
Source: Is hedging allowed, modified 27 July 2026
Unusually aggressive wording for the sector, quoted in full because a paraphrase would understate it:
WISHES TOWER INTERNATIONAL, trading as Goat Funded Trader, maintains a strict policy against the dissemination of false information, misinformation, or unjustified negative advertising on social media or any public platform. Any attempt to tarnish the reputation of the Company through the spreading of lies or misleading statements will be considered a serious breach of our terms and conditions… any individual found engaging in these activities will face immediate termination of their account and a permanent ban… The Company reserves the right to take appropriate legal action against any party responsible for such misconduct.
The clause does not define who judges what counts as misleading or unjustified. Taken literally it could reach a trader posting a genuine, negative account of their own experience, not only a fabricated one. We found no example of it being enforced against a specific reviewer; we also found no published limit on how it could be used.

An automatic mechanism on funded accounts, updated by the firm on 3 September 2026, and the single most consequential rule that appears nowhere in the contract. It “monitors the combined floating PnL of your open positions and is triggered when they reach a combined floating loss equal to 2% of your initial account size”.
The threshold does not grow with the account: “the 2% is always measured against the initial size of your account… Your Goat Guard threshold is therefore a fixed amount for the life of the account. It does not increase as your balance grows.”
- First trigger: positions stay open and the account stays active, but “your profit split is reduced to 50%”. The firm does not say whether that reduction resets after a payout or lasts the life of the account.
- Second trigger: “your account will be breached and permanently closed”.
Scope is stated as “all funded accounts excluding Instant Funding accounts”, which conflicts with the model articles: Goat Blitz and Pay Later are not Instant models, list no Goat Guard, and describe the same 2% floating threshold as immediate permanent closure rather than a halved split. Two opposite consequences for one number.
Source: What is Goat Guard, modified 3 September 2026 · Goat Blitz model, modified 5 August 2026
Accounts must be operated only by their owner, and “using any account management or ‘pass your challenge’ services is strictly prohibited”. The IP region used to buy a challenge and the region used to trade it “should remain reasonably consistent over time”.
Shared devices are treated harder than shared IPs: “traders are strictly prohibited from accessing or operating their account on any shared mobile or desktop device.” The firm adds that detection of activity from a shared device, especially one linked to more than one user account, results in immediate disqualification from payout eligibility and may lead to account termination.
A VPN is permitted subject to proof of the service. A VPS is not, on some models only, and the split is worth reading before buying: “for all accounts purchased from August 12, 2026 onwards, the use of a VPS… is strictly prohibited on the following account types: One Step, Two Step, Instant Premium, Pay Later. The use of a VPS remains permitted on: Instant GOAT, Instant Hero.” Goat Blitz, 3-Step, Instant PRO and Goat Stride are not addressed either way.

Breach, termination and appeals
Verified 4 September 2026The Terms and Conditions reserve termination in the Company’s “sole and absolute discretion” and “without prior notice.” The same clauses give the firm the right to demand trading statements from other brokers or prop firms, request an algorithm’s source code, and seek references from other firms during a review. No grace period, cure period, or defined path from breach to remedy is published anywhere we found.
Source: Terms and Conditions
The help centre answers this in two sentences, and they are the whole article:
If any breach or prohibited practice violation is detected on your account, that account will be suspended and rendered ineligible for future rewards or to advance to the next stage.
No appeal route, no evidence standard, no obligation to notify, no response window and no escalation path is published anywhere on the site. This is the one finding on this page that the discovery of the help centre did not soften: a firm that documents 75 articles of rules publishes nothing at all about contesting their enforcement.
The only evidence procedure published runs the other way. Under the IP policy the firm’s risk team may require “travel tickets or booking confirmations”, “passport stamps or other travel documentation” or “video verification or other reasonable proof of location”, and “failure to provide sufficient evidence… may result in account restrictions, account breaches, or permanent suspension”.
A separate risk limitation policy lets the firm cap a live account at “a maximum of 1% of the account’s initial balance” per trade idea at its own discretion, and non-compliance after notification “will result in an immediate breach of the account”, with those accounts “ineligible for any rewards”.

Quoted from the Terms and Conditions: “accounts directly involved in a dispute or against the same order number will be paused while the chargeback situation is looked into and resolved… if our team’s review flags the account as fraudulent, we will not entertain any requests to reactivate the account(s)… users won’t be eligible for any further accounts with Goat Funded Trader and all their other active accounts, with current balance over and above the initial balance, will be refunded as well.” Payments are processed by a third-party merchant of record, Odeonpay ALE S.R.L, trading as Paysagi.

Fees, refunds and payouts
Payout cadence and requirements
Verified 4 September 2026The About page’s comparison table states Goat Funded Trader’s reward cadence as “On Demand” against a competitor’s “14 Days.” The live pricing tool states “Bi-weekly” on six of seven configurations and “10 days” on Instant Premium. A blog post explains the gap: on-demand is “an optional on-demand payout add-on” layered on top of the standard cycle, not the default product.
See the programme table below for the cadence stated for each individual account type.
Source: About · Pricing tool · No-consistency-rule blog
Stated on the homepage and the rewards page: “Get Paid within 2 business days or we pay an extra $1000.” This is a promise about how quickly a reward is processed once requested, not about how often you are eligible to request one. The site does not place it next to the cadence figures above, which makes the two easy to conflate.
Source: Rewards
Published, and this corrects an earlier version of this page which recorded it as not published anywhere. The minimum withdrawal is $100, requests are processed within two business days, no trades or pending orders may be open, and each request must be for the full profit in the account, with only one request pending at a time.
Identity verification is timed to the payout rather than to funding: “KYC and the Trader Agreement are completed when you request your first payout, not when you receive your funded account.” Verification runs through Veriff, or through Rise where that is the payout method.
Payout method caps are published per method: Rise unlimited, bank transfer $10,000, Skrill $5,000, crypto $4,000. Bank transfer is offered in Kenya, South Africa, Egypt, Nigeria, Côte d’Ivoire, Tanzania, Cameroon and Ghana only. Once a request is made, “your selected payout method is locked and cannot be changed”.
A 2% processing fee is charged on every reward, “calculated on the final reward amount after applying the applicable profit split and any deductions”. It appears in this one article and in no model article, no rewards overview and nowhere on the pricing tool.
The first two rewards are capped at 6% of the initial balance or $10,000, and daily profit is capped at $3,000. A separate, older article states the 6% cap without the $10,000 figure and without the $5,000 two-step exception introduced on 25 July 2026.

Date of birth is collected “during the first login stage to verify eligibility.” Purchasers flagged “high risk” by a payment processor may be asked for “additional documentation” within 24 hours, and not providing it “may result in your use of and access to the Services being revoked.” No fuller KYC procedure, document list, or verification timeline is published.

Available on accounts purchased from 15 June 2026, within 14 calendar days of a breach, once per phase, and a reset issues a brand-new account rather than reviving the old one. Not available on Pay Later or Goat Stride, or on accounts obtained through GOAT Points, giveaways or competitions.
Pricing is published as an adjustment to the original price and rises steeply with progress: on a 2-Step, phase one is 7% below the original price, phase two 50% above it, and the funded stage 100% above. On a 3-Step the funded reset is 175% above the original price.

Scale, scope and eligibility
Allocation and account limits
Verified 4 September 2026One registration per person, and that is enforced: “each user is allowed to have only one registered account with Goat Funded Trader. However, with that single registered account, you may purchase multiple challenges.” A second article adds that creating further accounts “to exploit our offers, promotions or benefits” leads to a permanent ban and immediate cancellation without notice.
Simulated funded capital is capped at $400,000 across a trader’s accounts, and the same figure caps a merge. The homepage advertises “Up to $2M Simulated Capital”, and the published scaling plan tops out at 50% above the original account size, which does not reach $2M from a $400,000 ceiling.
The scaling plan itself is published in four levels, from two months funded and four payouts for a 15% increase and a 90% split, to six months and fifteen payouts for a 50% increase, a 95% split and a stated monthly salary of $300 to $500 by account size.

If no trades are placed on your account for 30 consecutive days, it will be breached due to inactivity. This rule applies to both Evaluation and Simulated Funded Accounts. Once breached, the account cannot be reinstated, and the fee will not be refunded.
This corrects an earlier version of this page, which recorded no inactivity rule as published. Thirty days is the sector norm; what is worth noting is that the rule is absolute, with no reinstatement and no refund, and that it applies to funded accounts as well as evaluations.
Source: Is there any inactivity limit, modified 27 July 2026
Signal services and copy trading are not permitted on GOAT Funded Trader accounts.
The firm draws one distinction inside that, and it is easy to miss: “copying trades from one evaluation account to another, or from an evaluation account to a funded account, is not permitted. Copy trading between funded accounts is allowed.”
This corrects an earlier version of this page, which recorded no published copy-trading policy.

Restricted countries
Verified 4 September 2026Twenty-eight territories are excluded, listed in the firm’s help centre. This corrects an earlier version of this page, which recorded the list as unpublished.
Afghanistan, Belarus, Central African Republic, Chile, Cuba, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Hong Kong, Iran, Israel, Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant and Al-Qaida, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Mali, Myanmar, North Korea, Russia, Senegal, Singapore, Somalia, South Korea, South Sudan, Sudan, Syria, Togo, Venezuela, Yemen, Zimbabwe.
Hong Kong is on that list, and Hong Kong is where the firm says it is based: a separate help centre article is headed “Based in one of the world’s leading financial hubs” and states “Goat Funded Trader is headquartered in Hong Kong”. Wishes Tower International Limited, the company named in clause 1.1 of the Terms, is a Hong Kong company. We record the pair without drawing an inference from it.
The list appears nowhere in the Terms and Conditions, the Refund Policy or the site footer, and the About page separately claims availability in “182+ countries”. We did not test the signup gate, which would require entering personal data.

Notes on the table
An earlier version of this page said the maximum-loss mechanism was stated nowhere but a blog post, and that every account type trailed. Both were wrong, and the second was wrong in the direction that matters to a trader sizing a position.
The firm publishes the mechanism per model in its help centre, and labels each one. Three of the seven are static, not trailing. The 1-Step, 2-Step Standard and 2-Step GOAT carry what the firm calls an Absolute Floor, a fixed percentage of starting capital that never moves. The Instant models and Goat Blitz trail against equity.
What survives from the original finding is narrower and still real. The Terms and Conditions, effective 1 June 2023, contain the words “drawdown”, “trailing”, “maximum loss” and “consistency” exactly zero times, and do not incorporate the help centre by reference. The rules a trader is measured against sit entirely outside the agreement they sign.
And on the trailing models the firm does not say where the floor stops. Only one article states a locking point, for the Pay Later model: “once the trailing drawdown reaches your initial account balance, it becomes locked and will no longer move upward”. Pay Later is closed to new purchases. For every trailing model actually on sale the firm says the floor follows equity up and never comes back down, and stops there. Read literally, a trader who does well enough is breached at a level above the balance they started with. Every worked example the firm publishes stops at a 4% equity high, where the question does not arise.

An earlier version of this page recorded the minimum-day requirement as not published for any account type. It is published, per model, and has been since at least July 2026.
A day counts only if it earns something: “to count as a Valid Trading Day, the trader must generate a minimum profit of 0.5% of the initial account balance”. The count resets after each payout, and a trading day runs 5pm to 5pm EST.
Two of the firm’s own articles disagree about what a trading day is. The model articles and the minimum-days article require the 0.5% profit. A separate article says the opposite: “a trading day is only counted when you open a trade on that day… Essentially an active trading day is a day in which you placed a trade.” One of those lets a losing day count and the other does not.

What has changed
Every rule change we find is logged here with the date we found it and a link to the source. This page was first published on 4 September 2026, so the log starts empty and fills as the firm changes its rules.
27 September 2026
Goat Funded Trader changed the Instant PREMIUM reward cycle from “10 days, the only account type not on the bi-weekly default” to “Every 10 days, or bi-weekly, every 14 days, for accounts purchased from 21 September 2026”. Source

Goat Funded Trader changed the reward processing fee from “Bi-weekly on six of seven account types; 10 days on Instant Premium. All rewards carry a 2% processing fee” to “Bi-weekly on six of seven account types, and on Instant Premium accounts bought from 21 September 2026; every 10 days on earlier Instant Premium accounts. All rewards carry a 3% processing fee”. Source
How this page is maintained
Every value on this page was read from Goat Funded Trader’s own published pages and is linked to the page it came from. Where a rule is not published, the page says so rather than filling the gap.
Values, verification dates and the change log are held separately from the writing, so a re-check can update a figure without touching a sentence.
We have no affiliate agreement with Goat Funded Trader and earn nothing if you buy from them. The firm is documented here to the same standard as the firms we are paid by, because a rules record that covered only our commercial partners would not be worth keeping.
Right of reply
Every figure on this page was read from Goat Funded Trader’s own published pages and is linked to its source, with the date it was checked. If something here is wrong, we want to know.
If you work for the firm: write to corrections@propfirmbriefing.com. We aim to acknowledge within two working days.
What happens next depends on what is wrong.
- If we have misread a rule, we correct it, date the correction and record it in the changelog on this page.
- If the rule has changed since we checked, we re-read the source, update the value and log both the old and the new figure.
- Where we have documented a contradiction between two of the firm’s own published documents, we will not remove it. We will publish the firm’s explanation alongside it, and mark it resolved when the underlying documents agree.
- If the disagreement is about interpretation rather than fact, we publish the firm’s position in full next to ours and leave readers to weigh both.
We do not accept payment to change or remove anything, and whether we have a commercial relationship with a firm makes no difference to any of the above. Corrections are shown on the page, never made silently.
If you are a trader and a rule here no longer matches what you see in your account, tell us at the same address. Rules in this industry move quickly and traders usually notice before we do.
